A surprising kayaking route to the spectacular “Chinese Wall” of Huesca!
The Finestres route is not as famous as the kayaking route in Congost de Mont-Rebei, but it contains one of those amazing landscapes that don’t leave you indifferent. It is not a crowded area, so with this adventure activity you can enjoy the beauty of the place quietly.
The kayaking route in Finestres will take you to the “Chinese Wall of Huesca”. It is a formation of vertical strata that nature sculpted in jagged form as it was a true wall.
This 5-kilometre length narrow is one of the little-travelled kayaking routes in Catalonia. The area of Finestres has a spectacular beauty that very few privileged people have been able to observe, since this place is practically inaccessible by land. Furthermore, between the strata formation we can observe some of the best places you can see south of Mont-Rebei: the Romanesque hermitage of Sant Vicenç (12th Century) and the ruins of the medieval castle of Finestres.
Kayaking in Finestres will give you the opportunity to observe the griffon vulture and other birds of prey you can find near the water.
The kayaking route through Finestres starts in the pier of Corçà. It is an activity to do at your own pace, so, once you have the material, you will paddle south to Congost de Fet passing through the Torre de les Conclues, located in an impressive wall 400 metres above water level. The destination: the walls of Finestres. Don’t forget to follow the instructions and advice we will give you with the delivery of the material. You can book our kayaks online. The starting point of the activity is the pier of Corçà, located 1.8 kilometres from Corçà village. The kayaking distance travelled through the Canelles reservoir is 22 kilometres, round trip, and you need between 6 and 7 hours. Its technical difficulty is medium-low, and its physical demand is high.
In order to enjoy the kayaking route through Finestres, we advise you to bring footwear, comfortable clothes (optional swimsuit), spare clothing, sunglasses, cap, sun protection, water (2 litres per person) and food (highly recommended).
